our story
We are a team of translational neuroscientists united by a shared mission: to bridge the gap between basic neuroscience and clinical application. Our diverse backgrounds in pharmaceutical sciences, biology, medicine, fundamental, structural and computational biochemistry allow us to approach complex neurological challenges from multiple perspectives, fostering innovation and collaboration at every step.
Our research centers on the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) signaling pathway, a critical regulator of neuronal survival, plasticity, and cognitive function. By dissecting the molecular and cellular mechanisms of BDNF and its receptor TrkB, we aim to uncover new therapeutic strategies for a wide range of neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, and Rett syndrome.
Through our multidisciplinary approach, we integrate molecular pharmacology, structural biology, computational modeling, electrophysiology, and behavioral neuroscience to reveal how alterations in neurotrophic signaling contribute to disease pathology. This synergy enables us to identify novel drug targets, develop innovative therapeutic molecules, and explore their translational potential from the bench to the bedside.
At the heart of our work lies a commitment to scientific excellence, open collaboration, and translational impact. By combining rigorous experimentation with creative thinking, we strive to advance our understanding of brain function and ultimately improve the lives of individuals affected by neurological disorders.
Our motto: “Focus on the Positive!”
