In May 2025, our lab had the exciting opportunity to attend the ESN-HSN joint biennial scientific conference on the beautiful Greek island of Naxos. The meeting featured plenary lectures from Nobel Laureates, 25 cutting-edge symposia, young member symposia, and dynamic poster sessions, creating a vibrant atmosphere for scientific exchange and collaboration.

Our team was actively involved in the conference program:

• Nuno Alemãn-Serrano (Researcher) and Tiago Costa-Coelho (PhD student) presented their work on BDNF/TrkB dysregulation through both poster and oral communications.

• Tiago Costa-Coelho was selected as a junior symposia speaker, while Maria José Diógenes chaired the session on the “Neurotrophic Factors & Drug Discovery Group.” This session was a collaborative effort with leading researchers Laura Marchetti (University of Pisa, Italy), Anna Antoniou (University of Bonn & German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases, Germany), and Cristina Malagelada (University of Barcelona, Spain), focusing on the intersection of extracellular vesicle-mediated neurotrophin signaling.

Beyond the presentations, the conference offered invaluable opportunities to forge new collaborations, exchange ideas, and advance future projects at the forefront of neuroscience research.
