The ULS Santa Maria and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon officially presented the first ten admitted candidates of the new ULSSM–FMUL Research Incentive Program this Tuesday. The ceremony, held in the Aula Magna of FMUL, marked a historic milestone for both institutions and a long-awaited step forward within the National Health Service.
This innovative program offers an annual FMUL doctoral scholarship, while ULS Santa Maria provides protected research time for the selected professionals. Over the next three years, the goal is to support a total of 30 doctoral candidates through this initiative.
We are proud to share that our student, Nuno Alemãn-Serrano, was awarded one of these prestigious grants, giving him the opportunity to continue his PhD research in our laboratory. A well-deserved moment to pick up the micropipette and push scientific discovery forward.
