Our lab had the exciting opportunity to attend the PANERIS Summer School on Neurodevelopment, hosted this year by Vilnius University in Lithuania. The program offered an in-depth exploration of the fascinating and complex processes that shape the developing nervous system, featuring lectures from top researchers covering key steps in neurodevelopment.

In addition to lectures, the Summer School included hands-on workshops, providing practical experience with:

• CRISPR/Cas applications in mammalian systems

• Microglia isolation and functional assays

To support career development, the program also offered transferable skills sessions, focused on fellowship writing. Through practical guidance and expert feedback, we gained essential tools for crafting clear, compelling, and competitive proposals - an important step toward establishing an independent research career.

Beyond the academic program, the Summer School offered a unique opportunity to connect with fellow researchers from other PANERIS member institutions, sharing experiences, insights, and memorable moments.
